Centennial Virtual Academy is an online program serving Kindergarten to 12th-grade students. The Academy supports families who opt for their children to learn from home with guidance and support provided by Centennial teachers. Our teachers will meet with you and your student(s) regularly to help you create a schedule that works for you and offer guidance for navigating the online platform and curriculum. We also provide regular optional opportunities for students to connect with peers online for community building, enrichment activities, academic support, clubs, and more. Partnerships with neighborhood schools allow CVA students to participate in select courses, sports, clubs, and after-school events in person.

Centennial Virtual Academy is an excellent choice for families who want to homeschool their student(s) but would like support from their local school district. It is also a great opportunity for families currently participating in another online program to consider returning to their neighborhood district.

We learned a lot during our first year and have adjusted our program for next year to better meet the needs of our students and families. Our new program model includes support teachers who will meet with you and your student(s) regularly to help you create a schedule that works for you and offer guidance for navigating the online platform and curriculum.

Program Model:

Students will be assigned a support teacher who will partner with their families to ensure that they will have a successful experience in the CVA program. Support teachers will meet with students regularly and with families at specified times, either in person or through Zoom or Google Chat, to help them plan their personalized schedules and monitor progress in their coursework.

This personalized approach honors the needs of each student and family, allowing for choice and flexibility while maintaining a rigorous learning experience. Your support teacher is your primary contact and support. If there is something specific your support teacher cannot help you with, they have access to other teachers and professionals who can help.

Elementary(K-5) & Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12) students and their families will be assigned a support teacher who will stay with them for a range of years. Siblings within the range will have the same support teacher. CVA also provides regular optional opportunities for students to connect with peers online for community building and academic support. Partnerships with neighborhood schools allow CVA students to participate in select courses and sports, clubs, and after-school events in person.

Live Learning Sessions: CVA students are invited to live learning sessions. These sessions allow students to get to know one another, engage in enriching activities, and receive academic support. The focus of live learning sessions may include, but are not limited to:

  • Book Clubs
  • Lunch Bunch
  • Academic support
  • Counseling Lessons
  • Advisory
  • Social Emotional Learning
  • Career Preparation
