Full Time Enrollment

What to expect when enrolling your Full Time CVA Student – updated April 2024

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS (K-5) HOME SCHOOLING:

To inquire about enrollment for your elementary student you can inquire directly with us at 503-762-3214 heather_dominguez@csd28j.org or if your student is already in the Centennial District you can contact your school counselor or Learning Specialist if they are SPED.

How our program works:

  • Students need a designated "learning coach." The role of this adult at home is to check for understanding, organize materials, set the pace for learning on a daily basis to help students complete work on time, and submit work to be graded by the CVA teacher. The learning coach should expect about 4-6 hours of committed time each day.
  • All Classes are taught through an online platform called Edgenuity. There is a workbook that will correspond to the online lessons that will be submitted for grading through Edgenuity.
  • The Core Classes are Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
  • You always have the option to elect to be dual enrolled.
  • You can connect with the Advisory teacher via Zoom every other week.
  • Students who are English language learners attend live virtual sessions with the CVA ELD teacher to receive ELD services.
  • SPED students have live vitrual sessions with CVA’s Learning Specialist.

  • As of the 23/24 School Year, there is a state mandated 2 factor attendance policy for online schools. This means students are required to do 2 points of contact in order to be counted as present.
    • The first point of contact is answering a question on a form emailed daily to the student.
    • The second point of contact is working on their classes for a minimum of 1 hour. Please keep in mind students should be working 1 hour, per day, per class – to stay on track.
