REQUIREMENTS FOR ATTENDANCE

Regardless of taking classes in person or online, attendance matters. Showing up to class and engaging in the material helps students stay on track, learn, and reach their goals.

There are two attendance requirements that students need to complete every school day (Monday-Friday):

  • 1: Students must log into the online learning platform Edge and complete 50 minutes of classwork per class. For example:
    • Taking 1 online class = 50 minutes of classwork on Edge.
    • Taking 2 online classes = 50 minutes of classwork on Edge per class (total of an 1 hour and 40 minutes of classwork).
    • Taking 6 online classes = 50 minutes of classwork on Edge per class (total of 5 hours of classwork).​​​​​​
       
  • 2: Students must also complete one of the following:
    • Attend daily advsory and complete code word.
    • Check in with a teacher either through email, meeting, call, etc.
    • Complete the daily attendance form. Found in resource page.

 

 

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

If your student is absent, you will receive an attendance phone call to inform you of their absence. However, due to the nature of our attendance system, attendance phone calls will inform you of an absence for the previous school day – not the current day. 

If your student was absent on a Friday, you will get an attendance call informing you that following Monday informing you of your student’s Friday absence.

We know that this can be confusing, but if you need any further help understanding our Attendance Policy, please do not hesitate to contact us for assistance.

NEED TO EXCUSE YOUR STUDENT?

If your student needs to be excused, an adult caregiver must call the attendance office.
